Spring Rituals

Awakening of Nature

Spring is the season of new life, growth, and fresh energy. In nature spirituality, this moment represents rebirth, inspiration, and planting new intentions. The earth awakens — and we awaken with it. It is a time of light, air, and movement, where everything begins again.

Cleansing Rituals

Spring is the perfect moment to release old energy. Think of cleansing your home with smoke, salt, or sound, or symbolically burning notes with old patterns. Opening windows, letting in fresh air, and renewing your altar also belong to this season.

Many people use this time to “lighten” their living space: letting go of old items, reorganizing rooms, and symbolically creating space for growth.

Planting Intentions

Just as seeds sprout, you can plant your goals and dreams. Write down your intentions and bury them in the earth or place them near a plant. The growth of the plant helps remind you of your own growth.

You can also work with an “intention jar”: a small glass jar filled with soil, flower seeds, and a note with your wish.

Celebrating Ostara

Ostara marks the balance between light and dark. Eggs, flowers, and fresh colors are central. It is a celebration of hope, fertility, and renewal.

Traditional Ostara symbols:
• eggs – new life
• hare – fertility and intuition
• flowers – growth and beauty
• light green and yellow – new energy

Many people create an Ostara altar with flowers, candles, and seeds, or take a mindful walk in nature to greet the first signs of spring.

Spring Herbs & Their Energy

Spring brings herbs that symbolize cleansing, growth, and vitality.

Nettle – cleansing, strength, new energy
Dandelion – solar power, release, clarity
Violet – gentleness, love, protection
Chives – growth, vitality, protection
Lemon balm – peace, balance, renewal

These herbs can be used in incense, sachets, rituals, or simply placed on your altar.

Meditation & Nature Connection

Spring invites movement and fresh air. A simple spring meditation:

• Go outside and find a place where you can hear nature.
• Close your eyes and take a deep breath.
• Feel how the earth beneath your feet “wakes up.”
• Imagine receiving new energy with every inhale.
• Release old tension with every exhale.

This meditation helps you connect with the growing energy of the season.
