Autumn & Samhain

Letting Go and Turning Inward

Autumn is the season of transformation. Nature releases what has completed its cycle and invites us to do the same. Samhain, the festival of the ancestors, marks the beginning of the dark half of the year.

Gratitude for the Harvest

Autumn is a time to reflect on what you have achieved. Gratitude rituals help you pause and acknowledge abundance and growth.

A simple ritual:
• write down three things you are grateful for
• place them on your altar
• light a candle as a symbol of appreciation

Samhain – Festival of the Ancestors

During Samhain, the veil between worlds is thin. Candles, photos, and stories honor the ancestors and loved ones who have passed on.

Traditional Samhain symbols:
• candles – light in the darkness
• apples – wisdom and transition
• pumpkins – protection
• black & orange – death and rebirth

Many people prepare a “dumb supper”: a silent meal in honor of the ancestors.

Release Rituals

Write down what you want to release and burn it in a fire bowl. Let the smoke help you transform old energy.

You can also use leaves:
• write your intention on an autumn leaf
• let the wind or water carry it away
